Dover Township
The Dover Township is 3km and offers an IGA, Chemist, Bottle Shop and Bakery. Woolworths is a 30 minute drive north to Huonville.
Feel like enjoying dinner our in Dover why not try the Dover RSL who also offer take away, the local fish and chip shop “Wombats of Dover” or the sit back and enjoy with delicious menu that the Pizza queen of Dover has to offer at the “Post Office”. With so many options to satisfy everyone.
Huon Valley Attractions
Let’s go and explore all that Dover and the Huon Valley region have to offer starting with our amazing local wineries. Home Hill Winery is a short 45 minute drive north back too Huonville. Dine on the exquisite menu they have on offer and enjoy the wine tasting.
Not big on wine? No worries the Apple Shed might just be the place for you. The home of Tasmania’s famous Cider, Located in Grove just a short drive away. Enjoy the tasting and the delicious food on offer.
Looking for adventure, why not visit Hastings Caves with a guided walk down 300 stairs to explore the natural wonders this cave has to offer and then if you are game bring your swimmers and take a dip in the Thermal Springs. You can enjoy a lovely lunch and do some souvenir shopping at the visitor centre.
Looking for a sugary treat pop over to “The Wall of Lollies” lolly shop at Geeveston. This old fashioned lolly shop has plenty to offer.
Directions
Dover is approximately 80km by road from Hobart. Make the trip part of your holiday experience.
Head south through Hobart taking the Southern Outlet highway. Turn onto the Huon Highway,following through until to reach the beautiful heart of Dover. Enjoy the amazing scenic drive, take some to stop in and explore some of the beautiful towns along the way. Hounville and all it has to offer, plenty of options for lunch. Stop at the Wooden Boat Centre in Franklin. The Lolly shop in Geeveston has some wonderful goodies.
